What to share before working with a specialist
The key details to include so you can get the best results from the start.

Describe the job you need
Start with the output: three social posts, one short video or one focused website page. Say where it will be used and what you want the viewer to understand or do next.
Share a small amount of context about your business and the people you serve. A clear example is often easier to discuss than a long list of style words.
Gather the inputs you can approve
Provide the facts, images or footage you have permission to use. Identify the contact details and next step that should appear in the work. Tell the specialist which information is private and which statements need checking.
- The output and intended use
- Approved facts about the service
- Permitted images or footage
- An example of the style you have in mind
- Who will review and approve the work
Do not send account passwords, customer records or payment information in an initial inquiry. Discuss access separately if the agreed job requires it.
Agree the scope before work begins
Confirm what will be delivered, the timing, the price and what review or changes are included. Ask how the finished files will be handed over and who will publish them.
A portfolio helps you understand someone’s work; it does not replace a clear agreement. Start with a conversation about a defined job, then put the agreed details in writing before production begins.
