The brief
Brightwater opened on Saturdays in July, 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., and for the first three Saturdays half the chairs sat empty. The dentist wanted those mornings filled by families who live close by, in the weeks before school starts, when parents try to fit in checkups. The limits: two hygienists on Saturdays, no discounts on care, nothing that reads like a health promise, and a small ad budget. And the practice is on High Street with its parking out back, where newcomers can’t see it from the road.
- Goal
- Fill new Saturday hours with families who live nearby.
- Who and where
- Clintonville parents within about three miles, plus nervous adults putting off a visit.
What the client gave me
The new Saturday schedule, two phone photos from the office manager, the youth soccer league’s sponsorship letter and its rules for using the team name, and the front desk’s tally of how new patients found the practice. Most said they drove past or heard about it from a neighbor.
What I made
Google Business posts with a map, a youth soccer sponsorship, review requests and back-to-school timing.
Your neighborhood dentist, now open SaturdaysTheir hours post was a photo of the door sign. I rebuilt it around what new callers ask first: where to park, how far it is from Whetstone Park, and when they’re open.Caption Posted to Google Business Profile and Facebook. Map, parking and hours answer the three questions locals ask before trying a new dentist, and the button goes straight to directions. Proud sponsor of Clintonville Youth SoccerThe league sent a logo and a thank-you line. I turned the sponsorship into a reason to visit: free mouthguard fittings for players who bring their team card.Caption A season sponsorship turned into a reason to visit: free mouthguard fittings for players. Shared by the league with every team family. Neighbors find us through youThe practice had never asked for reviews in writing. I wrote one card for the front desk and one text sent the day after a visit, both pointing to Google.Caption Sent the day after each visit and shown on a front-desk card. More recent Google reviews help the practice appear in nearby searches. Back-to-school checkups for Clintonville kidsMoved back-to-school two weeks earlier than the practice planned and led with after-school times, since missing class was the first worry parents raised.Caption Timed for the two weeks before school starts and aimed at parents within walking distance, with after-school times to remove the main objection.

What happened
The soccer league did more than I expected. Its emails reached every team family, and 11 of the 38 bookings named a team at check-in, often siblings booked together. The review card worked too: 26 new Google reviews in four weeks, more than the practice had collected all year. Instagram is what didn’t work: 3 bookings in four weeks. Clintonville parents were on Facebook and in the league emails. Of the 38 bookings, 31 kept their first visit by August 29, and the 7 who didn’t had all booked more than three weeks out.
What I’d do next
Keep the Saturday post pinned on Google and start back-to-school three weeks before the first day instead of two. Ask the league to resend the mouthguard offer when the spring season starts. Text a reminder two days before any first visit booked more than two weeks out. And add one question to the booking form, how did you hear about us, so the front desk isn’t guessing.
